Cream garden roses open slowly beside apricot ones. Clematis climbs through in lilac, viburnum holds the green, and tweedia scatters a blue so pale you look at it twice. Nothing here raises its voice. It is all softness, layered close, arranged the way flowers were arranged when arranging them was an afternoon's work.
