Luxury Gifting in London: How to Send Flowers That Say It Properly

London is a city that gives well. It has the hotels, the restaurants, the townhouses with porters and the offices with reception desks, and a long habit of marking occasions properly. What it lacks, often, is time. The gift is remembered at four in the afternoon, the dinner is tonight, and the person deserves better than something picked up on the way.

This is a guide to luxury gifting in London as we see it from the studio: what to send, when it has to arrive, and how to make sure it arrives in a way that matches the gesture.

What makes a gift feel luxurious

It is rarely the price. A gift feels luxurious when three things line up: it looks considered, it arrives by hand, and it does not need explaining. Flowers do all three better than almost anything else, provided they are the right flowers, in the right box, carried to the door by someone who knows how to carry them.

Our velvet boxes were designed with this in mind. Each is made to order on the morning of delivery from flowers chosen that day, arranged by hand in the studio, and delivered across London by our own team. There is no courier van, no cardboard, and nothing to assemble on arrival.

Luxury flower delivery in London: the occasions

Birthdays

The safest luxury gift in London remains a box of roses in a single colour. “Pearl”, in white, suits almost anyone; “Blushing Rose” is softer and more personal. Both start at £275 for fifty stems and go up to a hundred.

Anniversaries and romance

Red is still red. “Je T’aime”, from £285, is our classic red rose box, and the piece we deliver most often to The Lanesborough and The Ritz on anniversary evenings. For something less expected, “Burgundy” at £430 carries the same feeling in a deeper register.

Thank you, congratulations, and the gesture that needs no card

For a thank-you to a host, a closing gift, or a promotion, a mixed box in one tone reads as generous without being romantic. “Crème de la Crème” at £450 is the piece we recommend when you are not sure of the recipient’s taste; it has never been returned to us with a raised eyebrow.

The grand gesture

Some occasions call for scale. Our Statement Pieces, from £600, are made for entrance halls, hotel suites and the sort of apology that needs to be visible from the street. “Mirage” and “Autumn Splendour” are the current favourites; for a thousand roses, ask about “Divine”, which needs two working days’ notice.

When the gift should last

For a new home, an office, or anyone who travels, our Forever Flower Boxes use preserved blooms that keep for a year or more without water. They are also the answer when a same-day gift is needed after our fresh-flower cut-off; see below.

Same-day luxury flower delivery in London

Order from our Same Day collection by 3pm and the box is made and delivered that afternoon or evening, anywhere in London. After 3pm, a Forever box can still go out the same evening. Everything else is next-day: order by 10pm and it is made the following morning.

Routes are planned on the morning of delivery, so we do not promise an exact hour, but you can request a window in the delivery notes at checkout and we do our best to honour it.

Delivering to hotels, offices and porters

Most luxury gifts in London do not go to a front door. They go to a concierge, a reception desk or a porter’s lodge, and the handover matters as much as the box.

  • Hotels. We deliver regularly to The Peninsula, The Lanesborough, the Bulgari and The Ritz, among others. Give us the guest’s name as it appears on the booking and we deal with the concierge directly.
  • Offices. Add the company name and floor. Reception will usually sign and call up; if the recipient should not be warned, say so and we will keep it to a signature.
  • Residences with porters. Most of Belgravia, Knightsbridge and Mayfair have a porter, and most porters know us. If a building needs a visitor name on file, email it to us in advance.
  • Restaurants. For a box waiting at the table, tell us the restaurant, the time of the booking and the name it is under. We deliver an hour ahead.

Corporate gifting and standing orders

For companies, family offices and assistants who send on behalf of others, we keep an account: a set of pre-approved pieces, one invoice a month, and a note of who has received what so nothing is repeated. We also arrange standing weekly flowers for homes, offices and hotel residences. Email info@lagrandebeaute.com and we will set it up in a day.

A few things we are often asked

Can you include a gift? Yes. Champagne, chocolates and candles can be added to any box at checkout, and we will source something specific on request.

What about the card? Write it in the notes at checkout and we hand-write it on our card. Nothing is printed, and nothing is left blank.

Do you deliver outside central London? We deliver across all of London. Addresses outside the centre carry a £20 delivery charge.

Can I order by phone? We are happy to advise by phone, but orders are placed online or, for bespoke pieces, by email invoice.

Whatever the occasion, the rule is the same: send something made that morning, carried by hand, and chosen for the person rather than the price. See the gifting collection, or write to us and we will choose with you.
